Artist Statement: Born
in Tel Aviv, Israel and raised
in the Boston area, I’ve lived in Santa Fe since 1994. My inspiration
for painting is the breathtaking New Mexican landscape in all its seasons & moods and the evocative experience of plein-air
painting. In response I paint energetic & vivid landscapes, without brushes,
by manipulating different water media on Ampersand’s smooth & textured claybords.
The contrast between fluid, luminous water-media and rigid grooves scratched into the clay surface evokes for me the
interaction of natural forces that created New Mexico’s dynamic
landscape.
Currently Showing: Canyon Road Paint-Out Show.

Alos in November, I'm hanging a solo show, “Harvest Earth: Expressive Watercolor on Clayboard”
at Harry’s Roadhouse, the Old Las Vegas Highway, Santa Fe. The landscape paintings
of this series seek to capture different seasons, times of the day, and internal moods through energetic manipulation of water
based media on smooth and textured clayboard. The show runs November 15 –
December 10. Closing Reception: Saturday December 6, 2008 from 4-6pm.
